I loathe that phrase with a passion too.
I thought this was a forum to discuss all things West Ham but apparently not. Don't dare to be disappointed when we lose or voice an opinion on it or you are liable to be labelled some sort of gibbering wreck!
Also to call fans "deluded" for thinking we could compete in Europe is embarrassing. I'm sure everyone else taking part will manage ok.
If we had sent our proper reserve team out there we probably would have won and no damage done to any first teamers either.

Agree - get over it. As pre seasons go, this has probably been one of the most productive in years given games played. Which is the only value I put on this short campaign and why I am pleased we are out of it.
Once the PL kicks back in we will start to see the real benefit.

A few weeks ago everyone was saying what an exciting time to be a West Ham supporter. Now the same people are moaning, again. It takes time to push on and we clearly aren't ready for a European campaign. To think otherwise is - to coin a phrase of our old friend - deluded.
The problem started when we were deliberately trying to qualify for the tournament by pathetic means. Had we finished where Southampton finished that may have showed that we had a squad capable of competing. But we don't and these games have proved that. But you're not allowed to say that or else it shatters the illusion that European football during the last season at the Boleyn was our God-given right and was 'meant to be'. It wasn't meant to be, because if it was we would have finished in the top 7 last season, instead of collapsing after Christmas. But we didn't, so fuck off. We'll get there when we've earned it.

A shit competition that has caused us nothing but headaches, I'm glad we are out.
Too much knicker wetting on this site, the guy has been in charge for 2 months so not sure what you are all expecting?
He will serve us well and get us playing a decent brand of football but this might take a few months so let's just get behind him.

European football has been bloody awful since it became just another league purely devised to line the pockets of, clubs, TV companies and FA's around europe and not a knock out competition.
23 games to win the Europa league which is only 15 less than our entire league season, it's shit.

Everyone seems to be on a downer and pissed off on the eve of the new season...whereas we should be excited and upbeat and hopeful.
Massive shame...the whole Europa league adventure has turned into a shambles.
I think we all need to draw a line under it now..its over..we're out..get behind the team ahead of a new season.

Yes he deserves a bit of stick but the gutless cunt stuff is just ridiculous.
One fucking game we lost. He's been thrown in at the deep end and is trying to juggle a squad he's still getting to know.
lets not throw our toys out of the pram after 1 fucking game, we're not bloody Chelsea or Liverpool, we've got a bit more class than that hopefully.
Give him some time for fuck sake.

Was over it before the game kicked off, as it's only a game of football.
Shame for the supporters who went, though other than bilic rightly shouldering most of the blame, I'm sure his remit from the owners at the beginning of the season was to ensure we go into the OS with premiership status and after looking at the over zealous officiating and injuries sustained so far in qualifiers, they probably all decided to fuck it off.
Shit happens.
My main concern is whether or not Nolan, maiga and the likes ever wear the shirt again, though I understand people's anger.
